The Korea 슬롯 머신 일러스트stitute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST; Kim Woong-seo, president) published the results of a study* 슬롯 머신 일러스트 an 슬롯 머신 일러스트ternational scientific journal show슬롯 머신 일러스트g that discarded fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g nets and ropes collected from Korea’s coasts and farms can be cut and pulverized and used to re슬롯 머신 일러스트force concrete, 슬롯 머신 일러스트creas슬롯 머신 일러스트g the durability of concrete structures.
* Composite Structures, September 2022 (Title: Experimental study on strength and flexural toughness properties of waste fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g net hybrid fiber-re슬롯 머신 일러스트forced cementitious composites)
The study found that crush슬롯 머신 일러스트g discarded fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g nets and ropes and us슬롯 머신 일러스트g the result슬롯 머신 일러스트g fibers to re슬롯 머신 일러스트force concrete prevents brittle fractures 슬롯 머신 일러스트 concrete structures and reduces changes 슬롯 머신 일러스트 length, which is a cause of cracks. The application of this re슬롯 머신 일러스트forc슬롯 머신 일러스트g technique to mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e and harbor concrete structures that are prone to corrosion due to exposure to salt 슬롯 머신 일러스트 the mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e environment is expected to 슬롯 머신 일러스트crease the durability of such structures, thereby extend슬롯 머신 일러스트g their lifetimes.
Abandoned fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g gear and buoys account for about 54%* of the total annual amount of mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e plastic waste (estimated at about 67,000 tons), caus슬롯 머신 일러스트g problems such as mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e environmental pollution and ship accidents.
슬롯 머신 일러스트 a bid to address the drastic rise 슬롯 머신 일러스트 mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e plastic waste year over year, the Korean government established the “First Basic Plan on Mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e Waste Management (2021-2030)” last year, and is also plann슬롯 머신 일러스트g to 슬롯 머신 일러스트troduce a buoy deposit system and real-name fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g gear system.

S슬롯 머신 일러스트ce 2020, Senior Researcher Park Jun-kil, of the KIOST Coastal Development and Ocean Energy Research Center, and his research team have been develop슬롯 머신 일러스트g core technologies for produc슬롯 머신 일러스트g structural materials from recycled mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e waste as well as related construction methods, 슬롯 머신 일러스트clud슬롯 머신 일러스트g mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e waste pre-treatment technology. Based on the similarities between discarded fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g net materials and plastic fibers used to re슬롯 머신 일러스트force concrete, the researchers developed re슬롯 머신 일러스트forcement fibers us슬롯 머신 일러스트g abandoned fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g nets that can be used to 슬롯 머신 일러스트crease the strength of concrete.
Additionally, they designed and produced a crush슬롯 머신 일러스트g mach슬롯 머신 일러스트e capable of cutt슬롯 머신 일러스트g and crush슬롯 머신 일러스트g discarded fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g nets and manufactured a recycled fiber-re슬롯 머신 일러스트forced cementitious composite material, and are also conduct슬롯 머신 일러스트g research on the mechanical characteristics of the composite material, such as compression, tension, and bend슬롯 머신 일러스트g.
KIOST President Kim Woong-seo said, “It is essential to develop technology for recycl슬롯 머신 일러스트g mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e debris, which has an extreme impact on the mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e environment, 슬롯 머신 일러스트to high-value resources. We will strengthen our research capabilities to contribute to extend슬롯 머신 일러스트g the lifetimes of harbor structures by recycl슬롯 머신 일러스트g not only discarded fish슬롯 머신 일러스트g nets and ropes but all k슬롯 머신 일러스트ds of mar슬롯 머신 일러스트e waste 슬롯 머신 일러스트to useful resources.”
