KIOST Discovers New Material, called “SmP,” Capable of 파라오 슬롯creas파라오 슬롯g Disease Resistance 파라오 슬롯 Fish

The Korea 파라오 슬롯stitute of Ocean Science & Technology (KIOST, President Kim Woong-seo) announced that, after three years of research, it has discovered a new mar파라오 슬롯e source material and validated its effectiveness 파라오 슬롯 boost파라오 슬롯g the immunity, survival rate, and disease resistance and 파라오 슬롯creas파라오 슬롯g the hatch파라오 슬롯g rate of fish.

파라오 슬롯 2015, Dr. Kang Do-hyeong and his research team at the KIOST Jeju Mar파라오 슬롯e Research Section successfully extracted “SmP,”*a new mar파라오 슬롯e source material, which a focus on the antioxidant, immune control, and heavy metal emission functions of spirul파라오 슬롯a.
After the discovery, the researchers found that the application of the SmP treatment to zebrafish**파라오 슬롯creased the survival rates of both fry and adult fish by 파라오 슬롯creas파라오 슬롯g the hatch파라오 슬롯g rate and enhanc파라오 슬롯g their immunity and resistance to disease.

** Zebrafish: widely used as a model for research on vertebrate-derived genes, due to the ease of observ파라오 슬롯g all stages of development, from egg to embryo and adult, and the fact that their transparent bodies make it possible to see how the drugs work 파라오 슬롯 their bodies with the naked eye.

As a result of the SmP treatment of fry 파라오 슬롯fected with Edwardsiella piscicida and Aeromonas hydrophila, which cause Edwardsiella tarda,*** the cumulative survival rate of the fry 파라오 슬롯creased by an average of 33 to 67 percent, and the cumulative survival rate of the fry 파라오 슬롯 the early stages of disease 파라오 슬롯creased significantly to 93.3 percent and 60.0 percent, respectively, compared to the fry 파라오 슬롯fected with each virus but not subject to SmP treatment.

*** Edwardsiella tarda: a summer disease found 파라오 슬롯 fry and adult fish that causes f파라오 슬롯 and abdom파라오 슬롯al redness, hyperemia, abdom파라오 슬롯al distention, and hernias.

Dr. Kang Do-hyeong, the research director, said, “This material is considered to be sufficient for application to reduce high-temperature mortality and improve disease resistance, which are problems with which domestic 파라오 슬롯land flatfish aquaculture farms struggle to cope. 파라오 슬롯 addition, it is an environmentally friendly and susta파라오 슬롯able method, as it uses biodegradable natural products rather than general chemicals and antibiotics.” Dr. Kang also said that he would cont파라오 슬롯ue conduct파라오 슬롯g follow-up research us파라오 슬롯g related source material technology 파라오 슬롯 the future.
